August 12: Shershaah on Amazon Prime Video
Directed by Vishnu Varadhan, Shershaah is inspired by the life of Captain Vikram Batra (PVC) and stars Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani in the lead.
The war drama on the true-life events of the Kargil war between India and Pakistan in 1999, tells the story of Captain Vikram Batra, a celebrated Indian Army hero who selflessly lost his life whilst saving a fellow soldier during a war which would etch itself into Indian history.
August 13: Bhuj: The Pride of India on Disney+ Hotstar
Set during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971, the film is about the life of IAF Squadron Leader Vijay Karnik, the then in-charge of the Bhuj airport who, with his team, reconstructed the IAF airbase with the help of 300 women from the local village Madhapar.
It stars Ajay Devgn as Karnik, alongside Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha, Nora Fatehi, Sharad Kelkar, Ammy Virk, Pranitha Subhash and Ihana Dhillon.
August 13: Beckett on Netflix
While vacationing in Greece, American tourist Beckett (John David Washington) becomes the target of a manhunt after a devastating accident. Forced to run for his life and desperate to get across the country to the American embassy to clear his name, tensions escalate as the authorities close in, political unrest mounts, and Beckett falls even deeper into a dangerous web of conspiracy.
August 15: Spin on Disney + Hotstar
Spin follows Rhea (Avantika), an Indian American teen, who learns she has a passion for creating DJ mixes that blend the textures of her Indian heritage and the world around her. Everything changes when she falls for aspiring DJ Max and a long-lost fervor for music is re-ignited. The film stars Abhay Deol as Rhea’s father.
