Leaders of 14 opposition parties will take part in the Kisan Sansad under way at Jantar Mantar to express solidarity with the agitators who have been seeking repeal of three farm laws.
Top opposition leaders met at the chamber of Rajya Sabha Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge and decided to step up the offensive on the issue of farmers.
Congress, DMK, TMC, NCP, SS, RJD, SP, CPIM, AAP, CPI, IUML, RSP, NC and LJD leaders attended the meeting.
Present in the meeting were Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi, Anand Sharma and Jairam Ramesh along with leaders of other parties.
The opposition, meanwhile, remains adamant on the demand to discuss Pegasus in both Houses with Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi saying that the matter had been taken to the Supreme Court and was sub judice now.
“They have themselves taken the matter to the Supreme Court. The matter is in the court now,” said Joshi indicating that the discussion wouldn’t happen in Parliament.
The session is headed for a washout.
