JJ seeks approval for single-dose vaccine shot

New Delhi, August 6

US multinational Johnson amp; Johnson on Friday applied for Emergency Use Authorisation for its single-dose Covid-19 vaccine in India. Once approved, this would be the maiden single dose vaccine to be approved for use in the country. The company said it would bring the supply line to India through partnership with domestic firm Biological E Limited here.

India is yet to work out legal arrangements with Pfizer and other foreign-made vaccines. — TNS

Poonawalla meets Shah, Mandaviya

SII chief Adar Poonawalla held separate meetings with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya to discuss the future production potential of Covishield. He said Covovax for adults would be available from October and that for 12-plus children from early next year.
