Downtown Hero’s, Lonestar KFC emerge victorious on day 1

SRINAGAR: The Ist edition of Professional League 2021 kick started at Synthetic Turf TRC Srinagar on Monday.
The first match of the tournament was played between Kashmir Avengers FC and Downtown Hero’s FC.
Both the teams played quality game and missed some good chances. Their efforts were applauded by the spectators.
Perfect ball control man to man marking , superb Head work were the main features of the game . In the 42nd minute of the Ist half Kwesi Sessy of Downtown Hero’s FC scored a magnificent goal which took every body by surprise. At half time Downtown Hero’s FC was leading by one Goal.
In the 55th minute of the game Downtown Hero’s FC consolidated their lead by scoring another goal through Hanan. Kashmir Avenger tried their utmost to find the net but could not penetrate the solid defence of Downtown Hero’s FC. The match ended with Downton Hero’s defeating Kashmir Avenger FC by 2-0 goals.
The second match was played between Lonestar FC and Shaheen FC Jammu. The match started with both the teams exhibiting aggressive football and in the beginning both the clubs dominated the show and made certain beautiful moves at the goal. The solid defence of both the teams denied the opportunity of scoring the goal. The First half ended in a goalless draw. In the 60th minute Lonestar KFC missed an opportunity to score. Shaheen FC Jammu exhibited quality Football and their man to man marking was superb. In the dying movements of the match Lonestar KFC made a drastic move to the surprise of the spectators and took the lead by scoring a goal. The match ended with 1:0 in favour of LKFC.
Two matches are scheduled to be held on Tuesday between SCFA & Real Kashmir Reserves, the match will start at 4;30pm and the second match will be played between J&K Bank XI & Hyderya Sports FC at 6:30 under flood lights.
The total of eight top teams of the UT are participating in the event.
The Tournament is organized by J&K Football Association in collaboration with J&K Sports Council.
