Srinagar: National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Srinagar celebrated its second Convocation at SKICC on 16th November, 2021. The ceremony was held for the class of 2021. The event was attended by Smt Darshana Vikram, Union Minister of State for Textile and Railways as a Chief Guest. Jardosh felicitated nearly 28 graduating students of NIFT Srinagar with degrees, gold medals and awards. WPI inflation at 5-month high of 12.54 pc in Oct; crude, manufactured items see price rise

New Delhi: The wholesale price-based inflation spiked to 5-month high of 12.54 per cent in October, mainly due to rise in prices of manufactured products and crude petroleum. WPI inflation has remained in double digit for the seventh consecutive month beginning April. Inflation in September this year was at 10.66 per cent, while in October 2020 it was at 1.31 per cent. The October WPI is the highest in five months since May, when it was at 13.11 per cent. “The high rate of inflation in October 2021 is primarily due to rise in prices of mineral oils, basic metals, food products, crude petroleum & natural gas, chemicals and chemical products etc as compared to the corresponding month of the previous year,” the Commerce and Industry Ministry said in a statement. Srinagar: GoI Minister of State for Textiles and Railways, Darshana Vikram Jardosh on Monday visited the upcoming campus of National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Srinagar at Ompora Budgam and took the review of the construction work. Jardosh directed the officials and the executing agency to complete the project at the earliest possible time so that the academic work of NIFT Srinagar can be started from the new campus soon. SKUAST-K signs MoU for Stem Cell Research

Srinagar: Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology Kashmir signed an MoU with CellMed Biotech to work jointly on stem cell research. The MoU was signed at SKUAST-K’s Directorate of Research with an aim at joint collaborative stem cell R&D/ Investigational/Academic/ Clinical trial projects and related activities in Veterinary Sciences. The two parties shall jointly identify the research problems and formulate its work plan. Gold declines Rs 82; silver tumbles Rs 208

New Delhi: Gold in the national capital on Monday dipped by Rs 82 to Rs 48,246 per 10 gram in line with weak international precious metal prices and a stronger rupee, according to HDFC Securities. In the previous trade, the precious metal had settled at Rs 48,328 per 10 gram. Silver also declined Rs 208 to Rs 65,594 per kilogram from Rs 65,802 per kilogram in the previous trade. The rupee surged 12 paise to 74.33 against the US dollar in opening trade on Monday.
